Collective Intelligence and Sensemaking through Narrative

There is a ying/yang in sensemaking that comes from some top trusted institutions (TED and The Rockefeller Foundation) and shared media, and there are also stories bubbling up from everywhere through social media, TikTok, YouTube and other egalitarian sources. Where do institutions source the stories they highlight and fund, and where do everyday stories fit in and how can we make sense of the narrative threads that emerge from the ground and the top?
