Making its world premiere at SXSW, PERFECT imagines a world devastated by contaminated water where a hidden lake becomes a rare refuge. Kai, a lost soul, finds herself homeless and living out of her car after a bad breakup. At this secret haven, Kai encounters a band of eccentric misfits and an enigmatic and wealthy pregnant woman, all with their own stories of loss and hope.
This panel explores storytelling with queer characters at the center of the action. Director Millicent Hailes, DP Ksusha Genenfeld and cast members Julia Fox, Ashley Moore, Lio Mehiel, and Micaela Wittman join the conversation to discuss the responsibility and the gift of sharing queer stories in a politically charged environment.
