Tech companies are rewriting the rules of cultural production. Artists are not shaping the systems that set those rules. Technology platforms now function as de facto cultural institutions—setting constraints, incentives, and aesthetics at global scale.

Artists Make Technology (AMT), backed by some of the biggest U.S. foundations, treats this as a structural design failure. It positions artists as leaders and co-builders inside the technical and economic architecture of emerging technologies.

If platforms are the new cultural institutions, who gets to design them? And why is philanthropy stepping into the room where technical power is decided?

Followed by a Cocktail Reception at 5:30PM

    Moderator:

    • ALOK, Artist

    Speakers:

    • Ashley Ferro-Murray, Arts Program Director, the Doris Duke Foundation
    • Ziyaad Bhorat, Vice President, Imagination & Strategic Growth, Mozilla Foundation
