Evidence shows that stories and communications can influence behaviors and social norms. The challenge is taking what works to scale by building the partnerships, capabilities, and financing needed to reach larger audiences and sustain impact. Creative businesses need technical capacity and investment to grow. Investors need commercially viable opportunities with clear pathways to social impact and the public, private, and philanthropic partners need new ways of working together. This session will explore where philanthropy can be most catalytic, combining philanthropic and concessional financing with technical assistance to mobilize private investment and build a pipeline of investable creative businesses with social impact. The discussion will also explore how these partnerships can work at the country level, drawing on emerging efforts to integrate the creative economy into broader development investments.
