From Legacy to Action: Learning From History, Building Together

THE BADDEST SPEECHWRITER OF ALL is a short documentary showcasing the value of intergenerational exchange, historical record, and the power of coalition. This panel will explore the meeting of the two singular figures featured in the film, connecting across generations. The first, 95 year old Dr. Clarence B Jones, who served as draft speechwriter to the seminal Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and the other, the inimitable Stephen Curry, who in addition to being among the most accomplished athletes of all time, makes his directorial debut as the Co-Director of this film. Drawing on lessons from the Civil Rights Movement, the conversation will examine the lived realities and unsung heroes behind hard-won freedoms, team work as a human necessity in creating change, and the enduring responsibility we bear today.
