Independent Storytelling Within Systems of Power: Lessons From Three Chaplains

Three Chaplains follows Muslim chaplains struggling to make change in one of America’s most powerful institutions – the military. This panel explores their personal narratives at this critical moment, examining how independent storytelling can either advance or be silenced within and outside institutions of power.

We will also look at how the film’s impact campaign has sparked conversations within the military, universities, and faith communities, demonstrating the power of documentaries to foster dialogue in spaces where change is often slow. This session offers a focused conversation on values, systems, and how targeted partnerships can extend a film’s influence long after its release.
