In 1985, Palestinian American activist, poet, and teacher Alex Odeh was assassinated by a tripwire bomb at his office in Southern California. Although suspects were identified and evidence surfaced, no one was ever charged. Sundance Film Festival Official Selection Who Killed Alex Odeh? revisits this unsolved case through archival footage and contemporary investigation, uncovering the rise of extremist movements that shaped the political landscape then and continue to influence it today.

This panel brings together the filmmakers and experts to explore the far-reaching implications of Odeh’s murder, the ongoing fight for accountability, and the ways documentary storytelling can illuminate political violence, historical memory, and the forces that threaten democratic values.
